getting there
by car
The travelling time between Calais and St Hippolyte is approximately 8 hrs (including 2hrs for mini-breaks).
The maps below gradually zoom in and should give you a good idea of where we are located. You can also obtain a route map from the Michelin web site but we offer a brief guide on how to arrive in the Touraine by car. Coming out of the Eurotunnel take the A26 in the direction of Arras/Lille/Paris before getting onto the A1 for Paris. Approaching Paris follow signs for Orleans and the A10. Once round Paris follow signs on the A10 for Poitiers and Tours.
Arriving in the Touraine , Saint Hippolyte is located about 45km south east of Tours off the N143 road from Loches in the direction of Chatillon sur Indre and Chateauroux.
You can either go all the way to Tours on the A10 and onto the N143 at J23 or you can come off the A10 at the J18 for Amboise onto the D31 and make your way across country to Loches to join the N143 there.
After 1.5km turn left at the restaurant square in the village. Just after the church, turn right and follow the road to the left further through the houses of Saint Hippolyte and you will see the hamlet of Bourg Neuf coming up on the right. Go over the little bridge and Le puits d’eau claire is the first farm on your right.
